Posted January 13th, 2010 by rhixsonIs there a way to enter coordinates to define the depiction boundary instead of dragging the box corners?
Depiction/APRS Live RS232 connection to Byonics TT4 RS232 port
Posted January 12th, 2010 by Squad10Hello all. New member.
First Question: Will APRS Live/Depiction work with the Byonics Tiny Trak 4 (TT4), when the TT4 is configured for KISS TNC mode? Or, is a full TNC (like the Kantronics KPC3+) required?
Second Question: Does APRS Live/Depiction support APRS MIC-E format?
Thanks.

Hover Text Perm Text Issue
Posted December 11th, 2009 by ke6nytAppreciate the perm text for hover, HOWEVER, now all of the hover text for that reveqaler is up all the time making it imposible to see anything. Suggest that the perm text for hover display the hover text for that element which the mouse is currently hovering over. Once you move the mouse off of the element, then the hover text should go away.
1.2 locks up if you use Update from the Help
Posted December 11th, 2009 by ke6nytUsed the update feature in the help menu and it updated to 1.2 but when you open Depiction it locks up. Had to go to Add and Remove programs and remove Depiction and then reinstall the new version.
How to find and map Licensed AmRadio Operators (Hams) in your local area.
Posted December 8th, 2009 by KimThose attending our recent EmComm and Amateur Radio webinars have seen me import and map a spreadsheet of several hundred HAM licensees for my local community. Many have asked for the step-by-step procedures for getting such a list of local Hams from the FCC database. In response to these requests, I've built a power point presentation that shows the detailed, sequential steps for getting this information from the FCC database. You can watch this presentation here.
Hover Text Display Time

What Maps can we use when the Internet is DOWN?
Posted November 28th, 2009 by ke6nytBeings this is for emergency use, there is an issue that when the internet is down, which would happen in an emergency, what maps can I use that I will be able to zoom in and out on? When we use UI-View for APRS, it uses Chicago Mapping that has given thrid parties the source in order to use their map data. I understand that the GPS coords and address location may or may not work using this to plot new icons, but I still need to zoom in and out during an emergency and still need streets, etc. UI-View utilizes Chicago Mapping maps and it is able to do streets
Label for Hidden Revealers
Posted November 25th, 2009 by ke6nytI don't know if this can be done currently, I haven't found it yet, and if not can it be added, when a revealer is hidden and you get the little white box, is there a way to have the name of the revealer show up next to the white box like an anotation? Once you start getting a bunch of revealers and then have them all hidden off to the side, hovering over them is time consuming.
Editing the Library
Posted November 18th, 2009 by john2Is there any way to delete elements from the library? I have shown Depiction to my county's Emergency Management Director and he is fired up about purchasing a copy for the EOC. However, his main concern is that the default icons used for the elements don't adhere to the standard icons for emergency management. I am in the process of recreating the elements using the standard icons but that is cluttering the library and making it confusing to new users as to which is the appropriate one to use in the EOC.
Grid square overlays
Posted November 17th, 2009 by ke6nytI am with Ventura County Auxillary Communications Service and the leader of the Rapid Repsonse Team. One of the items that I would like to do because of the terrain in our county, is be able to overlay a grid square set so that we can have an "equipment needed list" for each of the grid areas. For example: say we get an emergency situation (true past case) where there is a missing person in Lake Piru. Due to the terrain of this area, communications is very difficult. We want to before the emergency situation, go out to all of the grids in our county a
