Depiction at FrostFest

APRS Live demo!
Posted December 15th, 2009 by timothyToday a good friend of Depiction, Brian, a third-party developer, demoed a very early version of his APRS Live add-on here at the office. This add-on, which will be going into beta very soon, takes data that comes in over radio frequencies, via an antenna, radio and terminal node controller. What this means is that live data is brought into Depiction without Internet access. Pretty cool. The software will eventually allow users to send and recieve short messages right from Depiction.

David will man a booth with two laptops running Depiction, be available to tell you about his experience using Depiction in EmComm operations and have information about discounts for your ARES/RACES teams. He'll have some other special things, too, so look for him there!

Captain Buike did a great job of showing the various ways Depiction can be used by governments, businesses and other organizations to prepare for disasters. New version of Depiction available

The new release makes Depiction even more powerful and easy to use, with new data sources, better shape editing tools and a significantly enhanced ability to deal with files with many data points. If you own a copy of Depiction, you can run the updater right now to get this new version.

We're looking to spread Depiction into regions that don't have it yet, and so we are offering "Regional Early Adopter Grants" to the first people who can show us a way to use Depiction in their area.
