Error importing .csv file

I'm trying to import a .csv file from Numbers, a spreadsheet program running under OS X. It has only 6 records, 8 columns - it's the station numbers and addresses for local fire stations.

I get the following error messages:

[date & time omitted] This file contains no data in the depiction area: [file path omitted]

[date & time omitted] Error occurred while geocoding element Depiction.model.Entity.BaseElement from file [path omitted]

Now, I think that there are data in the depiction area as one of the stations is on the other side of the block from my house:

-----Begin quote of headers and one record----------

Fire Station,Street,City,State,ZIP Code,Equipment,Miscellaneous,Element Type,,,,,

24,319 S. Humboldt St.,San Mateo,CA,94401,Engine,,Fire Station,,,,,

-----End quote------------

Should I send the whole file, or is this enough?

Phil

Whole file

Please send the whole file to support@depiction.com

Another way to test, since you have so few elements, is to place each by address in the Add content menu.

Added one fire station by hand

OK, I added the fire station around the block from my house by hand - typed in the address and clicked on fire station for the element type and bingo! Went right in place.

So there's some error in my .csv file.

Might be something else

It looks like there might be an issue with our geo-coding service. We'll be working to resolve it today.

24,319 S. Humboldt St.,San

24,319 S. Humboldt St.,San Mateo

why is there a comma in the address number?

First column

The first column is Fire Station: 24 being the number given.

Found the problem

This turns out to be an issue with the geo-coding service we are using. We have a short-term fix in place and are working on further options.

You should be able to import you CSV file now.

Happy Depicting!
