How To Import A New Element (Icon)
Posted December 19th, 2009 by skingusmc
I downloaded the Depiction icons and then made changes to a couple of them, changing the colors and names of the icons. I changed the "Amateur radio site" icon (a black microphone in a yellowish-green bacakground circle) "Area 1 Member" icon (a black microphone in a light green background circle).
They are saved as *.png files
How do I import these new "Elements" into dipiction?
I understand that I can change the name of a current Element and then save it, but that doesn't let me change the colors of the element.
Thanks for your help.

There is a Set icon tab on the Element Information menu where you can select the icon from a file. You can do this with a single element, or a group of elements via the Manage content menu.
For more detail on the process, see this blog entry about adding new icons.

I have seen this. Does this add it to the Element Library (I guess this should have been my question) so that I can use it as a choice from the elements on other Depictions?

Yes
See the last paragraph on that page (an matching image). When you save the new element w/icon to the library, it becomes available for other depictions on your computer. If you want to share the element with others you can:
- send to them via email (they use Live Reports to get it then copy it to their library)
- share the Depiction file (via email or on disk), then they copy the element to their library.
