Hover Text Perm Text Issue

Appreciate the perm text for hover, HOWEVER, now all of the hover text for that reveqaler is up all the time making it imposible to see anything.  Suggest that the perm text for hover display the hover text for that element which the mouse is currently hovering over.  Once you move the mouse off of the element, then the hover text should go away.

Perma text

This feature gives you the option of which elements you want to always see text for. You can set this by group from Manage Content (also individually there), or individually by double-clicking on an element and changing the selector in the properties box.

This is a first shot out at something users have been asking for for quite some time, so your feedback is welcome.

Thanks George, and I do

Thanks George, and I do appreciate it!  However, in our application it does not help.  Scenario:  We have a couple of Revealers; one is of our Rapid Response Team (RRT) members and their equipment.  When we get called out for an emergency, I can look at where the emergency is, and bring up the Revealer for the RRT Memebers and see who is the closest with the needed equipment.  Sometimes the list is long enough that the hover text goes away before I can read it all.  We have 14 RRT members in the county and with the Perm-a-Text it is to cluttery. Second, we also have 120 Staging areas that we have surveyed to assess the needed equipment for that area.  If a disaster is near there we can look at the Staging Area and see what we need for that area and then go back to the RRT Revealer for the best fit.  The staging areas have a long list of equipment and what repeaters and digital repeaters can be hit from within that area.

You can see how this would completely cover the screen.  So it would be nice to not necessarily have perm-a-text or another button, but just to set the hover text that it will display the whole time that the cursor is over the item.  That would be EXTREMELY helpful.

As always, thank you all for accepting our inputs from the amateur radio community for our communication usage in an emergency.

Devil's in the details

Dan,

Thanks for the details. I'll put this out to our developers and find out if they can do anything about it for our next release.

Best,
George

hover text and revealers

I was expecting that if I moused over an icon the displayed text could be locked with a "right click" if that was the item of interest to maintain a display of the information to allow a screen print of "those icons" selected for data to remain on the page so status and situation reports could be "snap shots" of data information.  Not sure if this can also be tied into the live reports where by the "active" flashing can also be one to hover over and if the data was of importance to lock it in place for the screeen print.   I guess if we waited until all the "live reports from, hospitals let say, come in flashing, then select those to pull up the live report or the hover text??  Good way to give the EOC a snap shot of activity reports on an hourly basis.

Good news

For the next update, our developers have just added the ability to turn on the permatext via right-click menu, and turn it off by a button in the text box. AND hovertext stays on as long as the mouse is over a given element.

Keep a look out for the update soon!
