Add new Icons to the existing Icon file
Posted November 30th, 2009 by kn6la
I have some Icons I would like to use.
How do I find the file inside Depiction where the Icons are so I can copy my Icons into it?

Icons
George,
Just have the icons you want to use in a folder you can find. In Depiction, you replace the icon for a single element in the Element information window (get there by double clicking the element or through the Manage content window). Or for a set (group) of elements, select them in the manage content window. You then select "Set icon" and click "browse" (the third option). Navigate to your folder of icons and select the one you want to use. When you click apply, the icon(s) in your Depiction will change.
I hope that helps.
Happy Depicting!

Replacing Icons
I see no easy way of adding them. George answered the question of replacing them with updated icons. I have tried many ways to get an icon added to the software and cannot find a way to add additional icons to the software.
Icons or elements
Do you want to add icons or elements? Elements are represented by icons on the screen. You can change any element's icon in the Element properties window (this has changed a bit since my last post here with version 1.3). One visual explanation of this is in my Depiction 101 Custom Elements webinar.
You can also read about it in the Help under Using Depiction > Element Information.
I hope that helps.
