Price Change
I just received the email regarding your price change.
a. I like the product sufficiently at this stage that I was willing to spend $200 for two additional licenses (bringing me to 3).
b. If I had to pay $200 a copy for a release 1 product, I would not have purchased ONE additional copy. If the product had been through a few releases with a proven track record, the price might not be such an issue.
c. As things in this game go (meaning Civil Defense/Preparedness/Management/...), we are once again entering the $$ dry season reminiscent of the Clintonian Era after having a Reaganesque eight year spending spree. The $ bills have finished their clockwise spin down the hopper and now we are once again in belt tightening mode. With CD/CP/EM budgets dropping, the software budget is going to shrink. Not a good time to raise prices -- even Microsoft is starting to awake from their slumber.
I respectfully suggest that you either re-consider the price increase, or provide some "bundles" to entice folks whose needs won't be in the tens or hundreds of copies. Adding a software development kit to entice we open-source folks to add value would be another good move.
Respectully yours,
john
