Germany invades Poland, beginning WWII

Today is the 70th anniversary of the start of World War II, with Germany's invasion of Poland. (Brings a whole new meaning to National Preparedness Month, huh?)

I thought I'd get my history geek on a little bit with Depiction, so I went to Wikipedia and grabbed the three maps they have there, from the US Military Academy, that show the invasion. Then I dropped them into Depiction, geoaligned them, put them into revealers, and in just a few minutes had a very cool visualization of just what it was that started 70 years ago today.

Take a look at the .dpn file (5.62 mb) to see what I'm talking about. You'll need Depiction to open it, but you can always download the trial version to check it out!
